Welcome to the first post of a monthly series called Student Fits, where we highlight three university students fits while also discussing with them their degree, their future career, what fashion means to them and a little saying they live by. The three university students examined under the UniFits microscope today are Nahum Gale, Brodie Winning and Brandon Klar.

First, we have Nahum, he is studying a Bachelor of Journalism and Professional Writing along with a Bachelor of Arts for Creative Writing. Nahum's current career goal is to eventually become an editor at a magazine or newspaper, he also aspires to become an English teacher. Nahum has also been an incredible writer and throughout university he has had the time to refine his writing skills to the point where he can obtain a career in writing, some of his work has also been published in On the Record, UniSA’s journalism platform.

Nahum also spoke on what fashion means to him stating,

‘Fashion to me is making the effort to look nice, if you look nice you give the impression that you are someone that puts in effort with their life’.

Speaking of putting in effort with fashion, what Nahum is wearing in this picture he actually made himself! That leather jacket is a product of his own making from when he visited Vietnam in 2017, it has gold and black stripes down the centre of the jacket with a black and white flowery pattern over the top of those stripes. This jacket accompanies some tan chinos, a white and yellow Red Hot Chilli Peppers shirt, and finally some gold spectacles. This look really encompasses some earthy tones but that gold on the jacket just pops, really stealing the show.

Finally, Nahum gave me a simple saying he lives by,

‘It’s nice to be alive’.

Brodie Winning is studying a Bachelor of Social Work and his current career goal is to be a social worker, he is open to what sector he wants to operate in, although he believes his passion lies in the youth or mental health sector.

Brodie gave his input on what fashion means to him,

‘Its about making yourself feel comfortable in your own skin, finding clothes that represent you, make you feel comfortable and fit the social occasion’.

Speaking of what makes you comfortable that is exactly what fit Brodie has gone for. A nice semi-formal navy t-shirt with red and white stripes. Its sleek, classic and definitely makes Brodie feel comfortable in his own skin. Accompanying this shirt with some light wash jeans and he is ready for any casual occasion.

Brodie ended his interview with some inspiring words,

‘Live each day to the fullest’.

Finally, the last student of the month is Brandon Klar. Brandon is currently studying a Bachelor of Electronic Engineering. He is currently working in software development, this is the field he would like to stay in for a career, just continue to rise to bigger and better projects. Brandon works in coding and app development for this company, he has always been intelligent when it comes to IT and he has decided to pursue it as a career.

Brandon spoke on what fashion means to him, saying,

‘Fashion to me is about expressing yourself. It is about differentiating yourself and fitting in as much or as little as you would like’.

Brandon said a final goodbye to winter with this outfit, rocking a brown corduroy jacket, some classic black jeans and some complimentary shades. I imagine this jacket will spend some time in the wardrobe with summer coming up so its good to see it once more before it goes away, Brandon is rocking it!

Brandon left us with some words to live by,

‘Just because it is a bad day doesn’t mean it is a bad life’.

Stayed tuned for next months edition of Student Fits!
